An Ultimate Guide to Your Photo Guestbook

I’m sure you’ve heard of photo guestbooks, they are taking the wedding world by storm! Most couples opt to have their guests take selfies using polaroid cameras, but wheres the fun in that?! Why not have your guests take photos in your photobooth, and get to print as many copies of their photos they want?! Years will go by as you reminisce on your wedding day, and how fun will it be to get to flip through your photo guestbook to see all the pictures your guests took throughout the night? Memories may fade, but your photos never will. That’s why capturing all those little moments throughout your wedding day are so important.

What is a Photo Guestbook?

A photo guest book is exactly what it sounds like. Instead of having your wedding guests write their names in a book, you have them snap a picture of themselves and tape it in your guestbook along with a message from each guest!

Typically couples have their guests use polaroid cameras, but now theres the option to use your photo booth!

Why Should You Have Guests Use a Photo Booth Instead?

There are many reasons why having a photo booth at your wedding is a great idea, but why should you choose to have your photo booth provide the photos for your guestbook? For starters, there’s not just one copy of the photo- your guests have the option to print multiple copies, and even send a digital copy straight to their phone! Plus, you get the photo gallery after your wedding, so you have extra copies of everyone’s photos. Another reason we love to use our photo booth for photo guestbooks, is because guests don’t have to struggle to get the best selfie angle, they can see right infront of them what they look like, and that in turn gives them better posing ability, and the ability to use props! We’ve noticed how guests love to use props when given the opportunity to, so you can end up getting some pretty entertaining photos in your guestbook throughout the night!

How to Setup a Photo Guestbook

If you plan on setting up a photo guestbook with our photo booth, theres a few ways to do it:

1.) Design your welcome table complete with the guestbook you want your guests to stick pics in and sign

2.) Create signage: We typically say “Photo Guestbook: Take a picture in our photo booth, then Snap it, Stick it, Sign it”. This helps to show guests what to do for your guestbook, because while we may know what’s going on, some of your guests have never seen a photo guestbook before

3.) Watch the magic unfold, that’s it! Easy, right?

Common Errors with Photo Guestbooks

Anytime tech is involved, there are sure to be errors, so we listed them out here, along with our solutions.

Running Out of Equipment: While most photo guestbooks in the past have included using polaroid cameras, that means once guests have used up the film, there’s no one around to replace it, so you’re stuck with guests who may not have been able to sign your guestbook. By using a photo booth instead, you’re ensuring an attendant is always around to help guide guests, refill equipment, and make sure any tech issues are solved quickly and efficiently.

Single Prints: Most prints only spit out one copy, and if it’s a cute photo, your guests are likely to keep the photo themselves rather than putting it in your guestbook. Pixel Pop prints multiple copies, and saves digital copies of each photo. That way your guests get a copy, your guestbook gets one, and you have a digital gallery after the wedding to look back on as well!

Difficult Equipment: If you’re choosing to DIY your photobook, you might be working with some difficult printing equipment. The nice thing about having Pixel Pop print copies of your photos at your wedding, is that we have a photo booth attendant with you the whole night! They are there to make sure everything works properly, to help guide your guests on how to use your photo guestbook, and to make sure each guest takes a photo.
