Props vs. No Props: What’s Right For You?

Entertaining your guests during your event is a must. That’s where our photobooth comes into play; but what all do you need to have a super awesome photo booth? Should you include props? Do you choose to not include props? Don’t worry, in this blog we’ll go over all the details of including props for your photo booth, and the benefits they provide to your event!

Pros & Cons of Props

Having props is sometimes considered cheesy depending on what kind of event you have. But what most people forget about, is it’s not the idea of props that’s cheesy, but rather the types of props you have which can be considered cheesy. Pixel Pop Photo Booth hand picks the best props for each event, ensuring you have the types of props you’re going for when it comes to your event! For example, couples who book our photo booth for weddings, get our wedding prop package which includes:

  • An Array of Heart Shaped Sunglasses

  • The Bling Ring Foam Finger

  • The Disco Cowboy Hat

  • An Array of Bridesmaid Sashes

  • And More

Rather than including feather boas, clown hats, and other dated props, we keep it fresh, fun, and most importantly, enjoyable! So what are some pros and cons of having props at your photo booth?

Pros of Props:

Your guests have so much fun looking through all the props to pick the best ones for their photos! And let’s be honest, props just make the photo booth THAT much more enjoyable! But what are some other benefits of including props?

  • Looking back on your photo gallery is MUCH more entertaining when you give your guests props. People tend to get some fun pics in when props are included

  • If you have a theme for your event, props help bring your theme to life

  • People don’t have to use props if they don’t want to. When you include props with your photo booths, you’re giving your guests the option to use them if they want

Cons of Props:

Some people just choose not to use props, and that’s ok too! You know your crowd better than anyone, and if you don’t think they’ll like to use props, then choose to not have any.

  • Most couples nowadays choose to do a photo guestbook, so if you’re having your photo booth print out photos for guests to put in the guestbook, you might not want them to use props, and instead take nice formal photos for you to look back on

  • Most prop packages are an additional cost

  • Sometimes, props get broken

  • Certain types of props can be seen as cheesy, so if you’re going for a more formal event, you’ll probably want to forgo props

  • Not everyone will use the props you lay out

Below you can see some photos from previous events that chose to include props.
